Representing the Interests of Business with Government

The Chamber Influences Government in favor of Business Legislation
The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce represents business to local, state and federal levels of government. The Chamber’s Governmental Review Committee provides a sounding board for businesses, local government agencies and individuals who wish to get the “business viewpoint” on local projects, proposals and problems. We also offer Sandwich Summits as a means to educate Members of current issues.

Examples of issues that the Chamber has addressed include (but are not limited to):

Ballot Propositions (State, Local and Federal)

Local Permit Issues

Local Development Issues

City Ordinances

County Ordinances

The SVCC has provided an invaluable service of representation of local business to our city and county government, and it is also a good source of education and information.” Kurt Dillard, Owner Valley Trophies & Detectors, Inc.

I have always enjoyed my Chamber involvement on a personal basis because of the terrific individuals I have had the opportunity to work with. In recent years, the Chamber has become the essential business organization to help promote local business interests. I am proud to be associated with its efforts.” Dennis Donohue, President European Vegetable Specialties
