Host a Chamber Event

Monthly Chamber Events Overview

The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce produces a wide variety of events annually, large and small! Our smaller events include mixers, lunch and learns, lunch connects, and ribbon cuttings. The events are great opportunities to learn more about businesses and different industries within our area, fundraise or bring awareness to a cause, celebrate a grand opening, anniversary, and more. Ribbon Cutting

This is an event co-hosted with the Chamber that draws between 30-60 people to celebrate a grand opening, re-opening, expansion or other major achievement for an organization. The event often features one of our *new* Chamber members, a *new* Chamber member location grand opening, anniversary, or more. The event lasts approximately (60) minutes and is typically after work from 5-6:30 PM.

What's Included:

  • Support from Chamber staff and Chamber Ambassadors to handle check-in name tags, and limited event support
  • PA Loudspeaker / Soundsystem for music and amplification
  • Our ceremonial scissors, and ribbon

Representatives from the Congress, County Supervisors, City Council, State Assembly and State Senate are often invited to help celebrate with a certificate to honor the organization. One ribbon cutting per year is included in membership at the $825 and up level. Otherwise, the cost to perform a ribbon cutting for a member is $250.

Chamber Mixer

This is a larger event co-hosted by the Chamber that draws between 50-100 people that features one of our Chamber members. Mixers are generally scheduled every 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month (with a couple of exceptions). The event lasts approximately (120) minutes and is typically after work from 5-7 PM.

 

What's Included:

  • Exposure for your business/organization – bringing people to your location
  • Opportunity to address attendees, to introduce your team, products and/or services
  • Promotion to Chamber membership and supporters (2,000+ contacts)
  • Widespread promotion via events and Chamber social media channels
  • Support from Chamber staff and Chamber Ambassadors to handle check-in name tags, and limited event support
  • PA Loudspeaker / Soundsystem for music and amplification

Salinas is a town built upon relationships, and many of those relationships start at the Chamber’s Networking Mixers. The atmosphere is laid-back and mellow, so if you’re not comfortable with the whole “networking” thing, you should try ours out.  We have an active volunteer group (the Ambassadors) who make you feel welcome and who connect you with people who can help you achieve your goals. Sometimes, we hold Joint Mixers in conjunction with other local Chambers of Commerce. Again, check out “Upcoming Events” to see where the next mixer will be. On special occasions, there may be Representatives from the Congress, County Supervisor, City Council, State Assembly, and State Senate in attendance and bring certificates for recognition. The cost to host a Chamber Mixer is $500 and $250 for non-profits.

Lunch Connect

This is a small networking lunch produced by the Chamber that draws between 20 to 30 people. The event features one of our Chamber member restaurants and rotates throughout our membership service area. The event lasts no longer than (60) minutes.

What's Included:

  • Support from Chamber staff and Chamber Ambassadors to handle check-in name tags, and limited event support
  • PA Loudspeaker / Soundsystem for music and amplification
  • This event brings business to local Chamber establishments and allows a networking opportunity for Chamber members.

There is no cost for a restaurant that is a Chamber member to host this event since attendees pay for their own meals.

Lunch & Learn

This is a small lunch event produced in person that draws between 20 and 25 people. The event features one of our Chamber members that give a talk or PowerPoint presentation on a specific topic that could include social media, legal advice, banking/investing, local government, safety/security, fire protection, disaster preparedness, etc. The event lasts no longer than (60) minutes.

What's Included:

  • Exposure for your business / organization
  • Opportunity to address and present to attendees
  • Promotion to Chamber membership and supporters (2,000+ contacts)
  • Widespread promotion through Chamber events, newsletters, and ad campaigns
  • Presentation streamed in person and via Zoom by the Chamber
  • Hosted at the Chamber office in Salinas
  • Support from Chamber staff and Ambassadors to handle check-in name tags, and limited event support
  • Staff to purchase and pick up lunch for guests.

The cost of the event is $300. Lunch is included in this package.
